    30 Apr 2008-Motivational Quote/Word of the Day

“Courage is the standing army of the soul which keeps it from conquest, pillage and slavery.”  -Napolean Hill

*******You cannot be overcome when you have courage.  MSN Encarta’s definition of courage is: quality of being brave: the ability to face danger, difficulty, uncertainty, or pain without being overcome by fear or being deflected from a chosen course of action.  Everyone one of us has the ability to have courage in the face of fear and adversity.  To back down when you know you have it in you, but cannot muster up the courage to attack the problem, is cowardly.  There’s no other way to put it.  This is your life.  You control it.  Letting others continually have the victory over you, is no way to live it.  How can you possibly face yourself in the mirror on a daily basis if you can’t stand up for yourself?  Or, do you keep your mirror covered so you don’t have to see the look of failure on the face of the one you don’t have the courage to stand up for?*******

    (transitive verb, noun)

    transitive verb

    1. to treat with excessive indulgence: “Let’s not mollycoddle our students — the more material they learn the better off they will be.”

    2. a pampered darling

    additional noun form: mollycoddler

Approximately 1849; from English, ‘Molly’: milksop, from the proper name, nickname for Mary + ‘coddle’: to treat with indulgence.

*******HAAA!  I love this word!  I don’t love witnessing mollycoddling as an innocent bystander though.  Especially, when it’s a girl mollycoddling the guy she’s with because she’s insecure and gets jealous if he pays me a little bit of friendly attentionie.  I’m not trying to steal your man, or the man you “think” is your man.  That’s not me.  I’ll sit there and be myself.  If that’s attractive, so be it.  My mama always said, “If you got it, flaunt it.”  You should do the same.  “You just do you…I’ma do me…!”  What I do is not excessive, it’s natural.  If you feel like you have to overdo you, you just look desperate.  Plain and simple.  Be yourselves ladies!  Your homemade milkshake brings more boys to the yard than the overly syrupy McDonald’s version.  It only tastes good until you get a stomachache!*******

    Hooray for Java!!!

I was beating my head up against the wall because I couldn’t insert a picture in my post for the life of me.  Unbeknownst to me, Java rules all things media.  I know I’ve had issues if I’ve ignored my Java updates before, but I didn’t know I should bow to the Java Gods if I received an update notice from them every week!  Aaargh!  So, I screamed bloody murder and perused the faq’s and deleted all of my temp files as suggested.  I read about updating Java, but I said, “Puh!  What’s Java gotta do with it?”  Ummm…everything I’ll have you know!!!  So I updated it and it MADE me close all 14 of my open tabs and windows (hey…I’m a multi-tasking bloggadoccio!)!  How dare they!  But, it worked and I’m blissfully happy!  Now I can make it through my day without the dark cloud of failure hovering above me.  I’m free to post with pics!  I have reached heights I never thought I would EVER reach!  I have been to the mountaintops!  Okay…that’s enough. 😉

    WTF Disney???

Hey!  Let’s do all of the pedophiles of the world a favor and put up gargantuan billboards of pubescent girls posed like women promoting Disney’s new line of underwear!  Sounds like a great idea, right?  Wrong!!!  I wonder how many cars stall underneath this billboard!  Are you kidding me right now, Disney?  Is the sale of your precious commodity more important than your morals these days?  I know the economy is in a slump right now, but are times really that hard for the Disney Dynasty?  I can assume so from this display of the disregard for the sanctity of our youth.  I wonder why this billboard is in Beijing and not in L.A.  Could it be because it wouldn’t flipping fly!!!???  It would be protested against before they could even paste the third quarter of the ad up!  I’m thoroughly appalled at this offhanded approach to advertising Disney’s underwear.  The fact that this LITTLE GIRL is made up and posed like a woman ten to twenty years her senior is inexcusable!  I used to model.  I get it.  They use young girls all of the time for ads projected at adults, but it’s normally for clothing and jewelry ads, not for underwear ads that belong in Victoria’s Secret and Fredrick’s of Hollywood catalogs!  Disney’s underwear ads belong in their catalogs and on their in-store displays.  That’s it.  What’s happened to the purity of Disney anyway?  Miley Cyrus is doing implied nudity photos for the cover of Vanity Fair and now this.  Will the real parents and real moral people in our society please stand up!?
