    P. Diddy’s Satire On Palin Cracking Under Couric’s Pressure

DIDDY BLOG #24- SARAH PALIN SCARES ME  *******Let’s get this out in the open.  There’s no way I could forsee this country being run smoothly if Sarah Palin ever became president.  John McCain is 72.  Wrap your mind around that.  She couldn’t name one magazine or newspaper she reads to get political and world news because she doesn’t read them.  How do I deduce that.  Because when Katie Couric pressed her to name a single one, she resorted to attacking her and defending her great state of Alaska by saying, “…believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America…”.  Great.  I read the U.S. News and World Report, The Washington Post, MSNBC, Slate Magazine, etc.  Katie was tough on her, but she should be.  Maybe she blanked.  There’s nothing like blanking under the eye of scrutiny and attacking the attacker.  I’ve done it before, but only because I wasn’t confident.  Confidence.  If Palin isn’t confident in herself, why should we be?

    Where Has the Love Gone!?

I’m sitting here fighting back tears (never mind…I spoke too soon) because I just watched the video of Angel Arce Torres, the 78-year-old victim of a hit-and-run that people just couldn’t bring themselves to help during the crucial time after the accident.  I heard about it yesterday, but didn’t want to watch the video because oddly enough, I don’t share the morbid curiosity most people have.  However, I was reading Slate (http://www.slate.com) and I decided to watch it.  Angel was hit by a car as he was trying to cross a busy street in Hartford, Connecticut and although there were 4 calls made to 911 and it only took a minute and a half for the police to arrive, not one single person bothered to touch the man to see if he was still breathing and in need of CPR while they were waiting for their arrival.  WTF???  Is this what we’ve come to?  Is this what we’ve become?  Cold-hearted and too busy and focused on our own agendas and problems to stop to help an old man clearly in need of help?  Are you going to tell me that not one of those people had EVER taken CPR and couldn’t at least remember the ABC method?  Is it now only the job of emergency personnel to help someone that is injured?  Oh…my bad…he ISold, so he’s lived his life, right?  Please tell me that’s the reason.  How sad.  How very, very sad and disheartening to know I can’t count on another human being to assist me in my time of need.  Angel is paralyzed from the neck down and is in critical condition and they still don’t have any suspects in custody.  After reading a response to the video post on youtube (http://www.youtube.com), I watched the video again and noticed two cars that appeared to purposely enter into the wrong lane just to hit Angel, then speed off and turn the very next corner.  Was this a hit or possibly a gang initiation?  We’ll only know when the suspects are caught and convicted and I hope this case is closed expeditiously for the sake of Angel and his family.  As for the passer-by’s and the not-so-hands on bystanders–the Good Samaritan Law in Connecticut does not enforce the “duty to assist”, however, you would think at least ONE person would have enough regard for the life of another human being and get down on their knees and check on Angel.  Oh…I’m sorry…I guess that’s too much to ask for.  Let’s just let the professionals come and do their job.  They’re the ones getting paid, right?  Shame on every heartless individual at that scene.  I hope none of them ever need any help because Karma does tend to show it’s face when you need it least.  We’re all in this together.  At least, I think we are…
